27/01/2010 GRAPPA ANDREA DA PONTE… A FRIEND OF THE NATURE Distilleria Andrea Da Ponte is characterized by four elements, deeply reciprocally linked: Time – Nature – Matter – Spirit. On these elements we base our way of thinking and distil high quality products, in respect for our tradition (Time), for purity of the Matter, for pride and will to constantly improve ourselves (Spirit) and of the integrity of our so precious environment (Nature). Throughout the years, the deep respect for Nature did not only encourage, but also forced us to improve our technologies in order to lower the environmental impact. Tested and started on 30 december 2009, the new photovoltaic power plant is our most recent demonstration of this effort. It’s installed on the roof of the ageing warehouses in Corbanese di Tarzo (Treviso) and it perfectly suits the structure, giving the building a modern and extraordinary look. Facts: - Power 110 KWp - 454 photovoltaic panels in polycrystalline silicon covering an area of 740 sq.mt - 112.400 KWh yearly production of electric power - Kg. 67.400 yearly reduction of CO2 gas emissions Our active plants: 1983 – Installed biomass boilers Our boilers for steam production, used during the distillation process, are stoked with biomass (grapestone flour, dried grapes skins, cereals flour). 1986 – Energetic recycling plant Condensing alcoholic vapours, generated by the distillation process, and thanks to a heat transfer system, we obtain hot water, which we use for the floor heating plant of the bottling and packaging division. 1989 – Water depurator and biogas production To avoid water pollution, we filter the distillery effluents by a water conditioner, then we subject the filtered parts to a refermentation process, which produces biogas. We burn it to heat our offices. The pollution due to this burning biogas is almost zero. 1994 – Smokes depurator Thanks to powerful electrostatic filters (produced in Sweden), the depurator cleans the smokes. In fact, the filters hold back the particles generated by the biomass burning, used to stoke our boilers.
